Attendant acts like a dynamic receptionist,
making sure your Norstar business phone is answered promptly and
properly, 24 hours a day.
Auto Operator - It can route and
reroute calls. Custom Call Routing is your super-efficient switchboard
operator,
using Auto Attendant to bypass the receptionist and making sure
important outside calls are routed directly to the
person the caller wants to speak with.
Auto Messenger - It can record and
send voice messages. Voice Mail features like an electronic messenger,
making sure to accurately record what your caller said and how they said
it. And it stores your messages in your
very own mailbox. Incoming callers hear a greeting in your own voice.

voice channels, 24 mailboxes, and has

When you subscribe to Caller ID from your local phone company and set up
your Norstar system to capture it,
the caller’s number and name, where available, appears on your Norstar
telephone’s LCD Window, so you know
who’s calling before you pick up the call. If it’s not urgent,
simply let the call forward to voice mail. Even if you change
your mind at the last minute, you can still answer the call after it has
been forwarded to voice mail - even while the
caller is leaving a message.
With Calling Line ID integration,
record up to three personalized greetings per mailbox, each in response to
a
specific calling number. The built-in Auto Attendant will route up to 100
designated calling numbers to extensions
or mailboxes based on the caller’s number. The caller’s name and
number are saved in the voice mailbox along with
the message.
Caller ID not available? The Call
Screening feature can help. When an external caller inputs your extension,
the
Auto Attendant asks for the caller’s name, and records the reply. The
call is then transferred to you, along with the
caller’s spoken name. Answer it or forward the call to voice mail.
Simple!
Even if you're out of the building, utilize
the Norstar Voice Mail off-premise message notification feature. This
handy feature will search up to five different phone or pager numbers to
locate you or your salespeople - no matter
where they are. Off-premise notification can be programmed with the
salesperson’s pager and cell phone numbers
so if an important call comes in, Norstar Voice Mail will call the
designated pager number, then try the cell phone
number. If the salesperson misses all of these attempts, a non-delivery
notification will be placed in the
salesperson’s mailbox.
Trying to stop unauthorized long distance
calls?
Toll fraud costs businesses billions of
dollars every year. With Norstar Voice Mail, you have access to toll fraud
prevention measures that can help your company eliminate this problem. For
example, Norstar Voice Mail’s
Set-Based Restriction feature limits the kind of outgoing calls put
through any mailbox in your system. You have
complete control over which mailboxes can call long distance numbers.
As an added benefit, your Norstar
Voice Mail system is secure against "hackers" because users must
enter new
passwords twice. The system also permits you to require users to update
their passwords on a 30-, 60-, or 90-day
interval for added security.
